I have recently retired from my career in Information Technology, and am now able to devote more time to my first love - art. I have loved drawing for as long as I can remember. Then, about fifteen years ago I began painting. My first venture was China Painting. As you may know, brushstrokes are not highly regarded in that art form, and my teachers emphasized using a soft touch - a skill which serves me well today in decorative painting.

From China Painting, I moved into alkyds, which are essentially fast-drying oils. I have also worked in Watercolor - a medium I find extremely challenging. But after running out of wall space, I needed a change. Now I paint exclusively in "craft acryllics," a wonderful medium!

My dear husband, Doug, was an excellent wood-worker and we have a wonderful workshop. I guess it was inevitable that we would pool our resources with me decorating the wood pieces that we designed and built together. Of course I also paint on purchased pieces, but designing a piece and its embellishment together is a special treat.

Doug passed away in March of this year after a debilitating illness. I dedicate this website and all my work to him.

Creating brings me both joy and comfort. Nearly every painter I have met is grateful to its contribution to her happiness and well-being, and it has sustained so many of us through the most difficult of times, as well as intensifying the enjoyment of happy ones. And the fellowship of others who share our interests and enthusiasms is surely a blessing.

We are so fortunate to live in a time where technology makes the practive of painting so available (no grinding pigments for us!) and in a place where we have the freedom to each pursue our chosen path.

Happy painting and God bless!
